My ADHD journey.

Where my ADHD story began…

Like so many other women, I’ve spent almost of my entire life undiagnosed and unaware that I had ADHD. Only realising when my youngest son was going through assessment. That’s when I started started to question whether this might be the reason that I had always felt a little out of step with the rest of the world.

Exploring my own ADHD has been a rewarding journey, I now understand my own behaviours and reactions to things. This understanding allowed me to stop being so deeply critical of myself and develop self acceptance. Helping clients develop their own awareness and self acceptance is one of the most important and satisfying parts of being a coach. Let me help you to go on this journey of self-discovery.

Parenting ADHD children

My own parenting experience has made me truly passionate about working with parents of ADHD kids, I understand the impact of empowering parents with knowledge, understanding as well as practical strategies for your household.

Having two sons with ADHD can be a real challenge, but in my family, this is further complicated by the fact that my sons have different types of ADHD, meaning they behave and interact with the world in completely different ways.

Parenting is so often a complex balancing act to ensure that everyone feels valued, heard and that there is sense of fairness within the household. Making adjustments for each person's needs, can often lead to friction between siblings who approach life differently, leaving you as a parent feeling that you are failing everyone.

ADHD coaching can help parents by exploring what strategies will work best for their own families. There is no such thing as a perfect system that will work for every ADHD family. Coaching is about designing systems that work for your individual needs as a family.

Previous experience

I have worked in coaching for over 25 years in a range of different roles and environments including working for Department of Work and Pensions, working as a primary school teacher and as a Team England sports coach. I decided to return to university as a mature student to further explore my coaching journey and studied at Cambridge University for a Diploma in Coaching. It was a natural progression to combine my passion for better understanding of ADHD with my love of coaching.

I genuinely believe in the transformative effect that ADHD coaching can have. Not only does it impact on the individual with ADHD but on their close relationships with family, friends and work colleagues.
